Those EAs have nothing to do with any div trade, they just open and start hedging/averaging when a candle of a certain sizes forms. They don't use a stoploss and were made more as an experiment to see what happens when you don't use a stoploss over ...

Just thought I'd post the current results from the no stoploss, no interaction EAs running on 4 pairs since end Oct last year (so 6 months of data) sits on a PC running 24/7 on demo. As it is on demo there's no swap fees so these would have to be ...

Following the familiar pattern, EA had a good week making over 2%, due to busy work week not been able to do much live trading and what I’ve done has resulted in a small negative floating DD.

Nor me, although hedges can get quite skewed for a few minutes so if I'm watching and a big positive number appears I'll take it. I can't be watching my trades all the time so anything I do can't fall down just because of a big spike either way.

Each to their own , for me it’s part of the process to minimise DD and if there’s no mean reversion in this world I’m in the shit.

Yep keeps chugging away, the point of the EA was really to see when all the prophecies of doom would kick in. The point being not to necessarily believe the commonly held beliefs that EAs don’t work and that you must use a SL, until I see evidence ...

It's clearly an image of Dawson City FC's ambition to own a team bus to take them to away matches, the Indian lady works for the dealership. Or maybe Rob's holiday pic (he's 3rd from the left).

Had a good week and will post updates later/tomorrow, might also have some info that Kodz may or may not find helpful.

I’ve always struggled with that but most simulations I run show it’s better to take a small hit occasionally than toil back to BE. Always working a loss also makes me think I can trade out of a position every time but my advice is to cut early ...

I've found patience has gotten me out of all sorts of fixes.

I'm sitting on a tiny DD so nothing carried forward here, my biggest end of week DD has been 2.09% and got that back and more the following week. I'm still focusing on minimal DD at the moment rather than profit, Rob seems ahead of the game when it ...

Couldn't agree more, I'm constantly learning from failures, if you are not familiar with the Dunning Kruger Effect you are probably guilty of succumbing to it. "The more you find out the less you know".

A small hint of jealousy on my part .

Quiet week, live trading +0.3% but did experiment a little so to be expected. EA -2%, sort of want the EA to fail as it’s fully automated but keeps chugging along in the green.

Nice work Liat, I think this highlights the fact that there's still a good deal of trader experience and a positive mindset required to operate successfully. Probably fair to say our brain beans are employed more in management than prediction. I ...

Very useful to see the patterns developing in people’s history on thread, I think it’s fair to say the mindset is similar even though we are trading different pairs and variations. Last week’s anomaly was shared as was the above normal returns this ...
