Agreed, the talk of volatility inducing biological responses is well and good but what about this 2014 market? My cortisol levels have remained in "hiding" for as long as I can remember....The markets are horrifically boring. It's been like watching ...

Spread, question, when do you think this bout of low volatility across all markets will end? I mean 2014 for the most part in the markets, has been like watching paint dry...yawn... Cheers

Seriously though, I would love to hear the savy traders on here chime in as to why markets have been more or less like watching paint dry for the first half of 2014.. Is it a gigantic move from risk on to risk off creating a massive turning point in ...

Indeed it has, but my stop is pulled well up from where entry was so profits will be booked if price does indeed get back in favor of the trend.... Gotta let your winners run...as well as cut your losers short (hence the tight stops on the yen ...

I am holding positions at the moment. 4 to be exact, I swing trade dailys like I said and I am not full of shit. Long USD CHF at .87796 (running decent profit), Short CAD JPY 92.652 (running at a loss at moment--stops are in though and if breached ...

Squeeze is right. Anyone claiming to scalp on the retail side is full of it. It's all noise to those of us that make money by swing trading, which is why we prefer the dailys and up. Trade less, make more....it's part of our "edge." Cheers

Squeeze isn't it fair to say then that is why it very well could happen? Nicely done sticking to your plan Mike. If you recall, MANY of the punters on here months ago were saying the Fed will never taper but what they would do instead was INCREASE ...

^ no. you are lying. please stop before it gets worse. Noise is a very real thing, and leads to the randomness/choppiness/fck all movement on lower time frames... I am done on this thread, because as with most threads on here, its only a matter of ...

noise...if you count those as moves, you are trading too tight on a retail platform and need to step away, count to ten, reanalyze the way you are going to tackle these markets... swing trade ftw...trade less make more...

In their discussion of the path for monetary policy, most participants judged that the incoming information about the economy was broadly in line with their expectations and that a further modest step down in the pace of purchases was appropriate. A ...

Thanks for the response Spread. Although, I've been on here for quite some time, this was the first time I recall reading your input on the HFT/algo debate. So with what you have said, and from what I have done/understood...swing trade your way to ...

Thanks Squeeze, question for you and SpreadBetter...do you think these computers will affect price action to the degree that swing traders like me who prefer working off daily charts will have to adapt to more market noise? Or is the randomness of ...
