1-month SPX straddles ahead of the September meeting, as analyzed by GS: image url I don't disagree with what they say; the question in my mind is which sie of the straddle is going to be hit first?

Looking at the chart below, it seems to me that going back the last 5 years every time the NYSE Summation Index has plunged that occurrence has been accompanied by weakness significant losses on the SPX, as highlighted on the chart. Until 2015. Note ...

Looks to me like there is a good bid in 30-year bonds given the lack of follow-through selling (so far; the day is yet young) following yesterday's "topping" candle.

Ratio of CL to RB, interesting.

Trying a small long on UGA - the only gasoline ETF - based on RB's strong performance yesterday, and its outperformance today; I think all things considered printing the daily candle today is no mean feat:

Just thought I'd post this: url I see that the SPX closed above teh 20wk ma and 20dma today. If we get continuation i.e. another good push tomorrow, I will be watching (at least try to remember to check) to see if the NYSE Comp can take out the ...

To a long USO @ 14.60 from last week, I've added a 15P/15C Jan 16 straddle for 2.93. I've done this in a second account that I've set up recently in IB which is intended to be a "conservative" account for wealth preservation and slow gains. The ...

Whereas on the NYSE Comp the 50dma is homing in on the 200dma like a heat-seeking missile. INCOMING!!!!
- Boy Wonder replied Aug 5, 2015
50dma has rolled over on $SPX - it's now sloping down. At the current rate it looks like it's going to crossover teh 200 in a couple of months or so. Note the big tail as of writing on today's candle.

Is anybody taking a bite out of AAPL? Feels like I should be getting long here somehow (maybe selling a bull put spread), sitting right at the 200dma. But I've been burnt so many times on stocks in the past (then again I was probably going against ...

I was watching the NYSE Composite on Friday to see how it behaved at the 200dma. Was anybody else watching? Check it out below: it failed at the 200dma - poked its head above, closed below. Just for kicks, below it is the Dow (which I don't usually ...

Deterioration in NYSE Composite - NYA200R is the percentage of stocks above the 200DMA. Note the 20/200 crossover, and looming 50/200 crossover. And that the 200dma is flat and 20 and 50 pointing downwards. And the lower highs and lower lows and the ...

A second failed push above 88. Any more for any more? Might have to wait for the Fed tomorrow, maybe that will do it, they'll blast it to infinity when they see the Fed sees the first hike in 2525.

Yeah maybe, or then again it might do this?
