The things I liked: *Using the highlow as Stop Loss is a great idea, I use it too in my trades. Good. The things I didn't like so much: *WHY ON EARTH SHOULD YOU USE STOCHASTIC when you are already looking at support and resistance. Stochastic only ...

I agree, basically. As long as you know you CAN'T make money using a simple moving average. I have tested ALL moving average based system, mechanically and they all use money. All crosses, Bunny Girls, eventually lose money. Anyway, it is really not ...

IT is a nice strategy. I remember trading with a similar strategy, based on bounce of price off Moving Average. And objective backtesting results?

Seems very nice. It will work great on highly trending pairs, like the GBPJPY or the Gold. Try to add Range filter, such as the angle of the Moving Average (I've been saying that a lot today :-D) As usual thanks a lot for sharing.. generosity is not ...

Thanks for sharing. Have you backtested it? I have found very few breakout strategies that work in the long term. Most seem to be working for a short period (sometimes only the sample period) and than start losing. Try to confirm breakout with ...

This system incorporates martingale, and therefore doomed to failure. In MetaTrader backtesting does not simulate margin calls for trades that are not closed, so such EAs could 'win' forever. It is true for the PipBoxer EA (one of the very early ...

Holy Grails does exist, but not in the fashion most people refer to. There are traders (I know several in person) that achieve great results using a simple system, over and over again. Some have done so for several years, so it is beyond statistical ...

I like simple systems. In this business, the simpler the better. This is why I began concentrating on simple, proven setups to make my profits. Thanks for sharing, I'll check that out.

I agree that price is the most important aspect of trading. Now tell us your system! :-)

I like your system. I have traded it somewhere in the beginning of my trading career, works very well. I especially like the use of Fractals in your trading system. Despite being not so popular, fractals help you time your trade well, not entering ...

double value = iCustom(NULL, 0, "Indicator Name Goes Here", Indicator Parameters goes here, Indicator buffer index, shift) Compare against Indicator BufferEmptyValue

I'm guessing you use martingale? or you take a very small profit and trade almost without SL.
- M256 replied Jun 12, 2009
Basically, for(int i=0; i < Bars; i++) Buffer[i] = Close[i] - iMA(NULL, 0, 14, MODE_EMA, PRICE_CLOSE, i);

Yes. When calling an indicator, change the Period to whatever chart you wish. Also, if using CloseOpen, use iClose() and iOpen() instead, to account for different timeframes.

In the middle of the code there's PERIOD_4H. Change it to PERIOD_1H, I believe it should solve your problem.

Here's how to do it manually: double MACD[20]; for(int i=0; i < 20; i++) MACD[i] = iMACD(Symbol(), 0, 12, 26, 9, ...); //Calculate high double highest; for(int i=0; i < 20; i++) if(MACD[i] > highest) highest= MACD[i]; I don't think the iHighest() ...

Scroll the chart window to the earliest date possible, and MetaTrader will start downloading data automatically. Do this on all timeframes and you've got yourself high-quality data right from the server.
