    Microsoft is taking its secret platform for creating tokens similar to bitcoin out for a test-drive. The software giant that was among the first to accept bitcoin for payment, has created a mint for issuing a wide range of crypto-assets. Guys, how much energy is necessary to create a block for my satoshi when I pay my coffee ?
How much energy is needed to create 14 billion blocks daily only for the coffee and donut for every dude on the planet?

Blockchain technology seem drastically limited by the electric power supply...
We hardly make it for the industries and dwellings...
So this bubble must break somewhere, sometime....
Blockchain technology is obviously a ticking bomb.
But there are tones of money to be made out of this mess... even more than "the subprime credit millenium invention" ...so, why not, go blockchain!

Crypto does have a ways to go before it can reach that kind of scale that you are talking about.

Similar arguments could be made for early computers too. These nascent devices only alluded to their true, future, utility.
