You're arguing that interest rates should be lowered while simultaneously pursuing policies that add inflationary pressure. That economics degree has to be one of the biggest shams I've ever seen.

Interestingly, this is the most uncertain rate odds have been so close to an FOMC meeting in quite some time. Unfortunately for Trump, the question is not about a cut or hold, but a hold or hike. 64% hold. 36% hike. Hence everything that was flying higher on the hopes of rate cuts (or at least holds) is getting absolutely smacked around (sidesways > down) over the past 4-8 weeks.

Markets are currently pricing in a higher (7.3%) chance of THREE hikes by October and even FOUR by December (2.6%) than a cut (0%) this meeting. I'll take the under on both of those 'bets', but still....

lol, surely rates will go down... oil should be at 200USD+ and inflation on its way to the Moon, but somehow magically they both are not, even though oil reserves are essentially 0, there is a war and Hormuz is closed for 1/3 of the year now. Wouldn't be surprised if we already were in a deep recession, but window dressing and number cooking via AI bubble schemes keeps us from seeing it yet (as was the case with subprime mortgage crisis).
