XXXJPY pairs have been sidelined since March, besides USD being the outlier because of safe haven & hawkish fed flows. Yield differentials and the fact that the JPY is low yielding makes it a slow turn. Some xxxJPY pairs are breaking weekly support levels, i am hawkish currently on yen. AUDJPY to be specific

Yield differentials, yes it is a safe haven, not against rising yields with the hormuz situation as other currencies offer higher yields with inflationary effects of oil rise. The tide is turning, inflationary JPY currently, and if hormuz situation is over with other central banks will continue cutting. Carry trades unwind

When determining strength of a currency that is not the dollar (can just simply look at DXY) it's best to look at multiple crosses for a general bias
