They repeatedly claimed Iran AND Oman would manage Hormuz since (from their perspective) each country's territory includes one side of Hormuz. Now it is clear they want sole control over the entire straight. Even though by their own claims of territorial boundaries, Oman should be free to govern their side of the straight as they please... You cannot negotiate with terrorists obsessed with bringing about biblical prophecy.
