    The U.S. launched strikes against Iran on Friday in response to drone attacks on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week, which President Donald Trump called a violation of the ceasefire agreement, U.S. Central Command said. A U.S. aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations as well as coastal radar sites, Central Command said in a news release. Iran allegedly shot at least four drones at ships traveling through the Strait on Thursday, Trump said on Truth Social Friday morning. Why did gold rise unexpectedly when strikes on Iran were announced? Since the beginning of the war between Iran and the United States, gold has fallen with every new strike. Have the rules changed now?

I would not make much of this move. The news broke out some 15 minutes before closing for the weekend, and there were a lot of shorts who decided to cover their position, and take profits thus pushing Gold slightly up.
Comes Sunday night when real trading starts, then Gold will likely be under pressure.
Yes, with tension traders sell Gold, and with peace they buy Gold, but this happens during liquid normal trading hours.

I think the reaction are coming based on fed, and latest skepticism on rate hikes … we are still in Q2 so high probably for Gold to keep buying in Q3 with or without strait of Hormuz.
