An anonymous official told Iran International that the letter had called out the fact that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had effectively taken over large portions of the government, and that the president and other high-ranking officials had been cut out of vital decision-making. Probably propaganda, I agree. But it could also be a stall tactic by Iran. The longer they keep oil prices elevated, the worse it is for Trump on multiple levels. His economy and approval/mid-term elections numbers are slipping away from him.

It serves Iran well to give the appearance of disarray and division. Persia was making sophisticated international deals when Trump's ancestors were still stone age simpletons. In the absence of facts one way or the other, I assume they are 10 steps ahead of Donnie at all times.

Yes, they do. That's why the Netanyahu/Trump axis of evil is losing.

Trump's approval rating is already at an all time low. And anything he might have done for the US economy is being erased by rising oil prices that he caused.

He is out of time and he knows it. Iran knows it too. Iran can wait forever for a truce, and the longer they wait, the weaker Trump's administration gets. If Republicans lose control of House and Senate in the mid-terms because voters are pissed about the wars they were promised would stop, the party will abandon Trump.

Netanyahu and Trump both totally screwed themselves. They imagined that they could just drop bombs until Iran surrendered and did what they are told by the West.

Surprise! Turns out they can't do that. Can't bomb Iran back to the stone age because their oil output is part of the global oil economy, even if it is sanctioned it still gets sold to someone (China, mostly) and that supply influences prices on the global market. Destroy Iranian infrastructure, and oil prices will stay high until it's all rebuilt and the oil is flowing again.

And no matter how many bombs Trump drops, Iran will always have the ability to make Hormuz too dangerous to use, if they want.

Trump has a lot of bombs but they only affect Iran. Iran has leverage on oil prices that affect the entire world, and the US most of all. So yeah, Iran is holding the cards, and they have already won the fight that the idiots Netanyahu and Trump started.

Which is why the war won't be over until Iran says it's over. Trump is not in control of the situation.
