You are totally right
Always take the opposite of what he says and analyze as per your position, but more important is how the market perceives its tweets and generally the news.
In many, instances market take it just straight in beginning ending to reverse course after while.
He just fucked up the trading nowadays and no strategies works as long as he posses the monopoly of information that can move the market in an instant .
Simply, it seems he or those around him might be part of inside trading.

So another round of the market heading into the shitter on Friday, then Sunday night there will be a miraculous Trump post with claims of a new peace deal and somehow people still believe anything he says. And we'll learn about some insiders who placed some big leveraged oil shorts just before the "deal" is announced. Same as it ever was. Rinse repeat. You'd think that people would be getting tired of the same old shit.

Trump's masters knew this would happen, it was obvious to anyone that the US terms were purposely made so Iran couldn't accept them. Now they have an excuse for escalation, which was the plan all along. Prepare for more bombing.

I disagree with "prepare for more bombing".

Perhaps: "prepare for more threats of bombing", but you don't remove military assets from the region if you plant to bomb more. You also don't ignore all of the "ceasefire violations" if you plan/want to bomb more. At this point, bombing 'appears' to be the measure of last resort for the administration. The "war is won", so there's no need to do anything that would upset the markets (and further increase the chance of an inflation-impacted election here in the states).

Bonus: he needs some sort of de-escalation to stay status quo until meeting with Xi so that he can threaten China with a re-escalation and/or promise a continuation of the secession of hostilities (and further impact to China oil) during his upcoming May summit.

Trump has been looking for an offramp. He may talk a big game between now and the peace deal signing, but that's going to be a lot of bluster.

Now, if the US is attacked directly, that would make for some changes tot his philosophy.

Markets obviously don't care about the banter anymore either though. A small jiggle here and there. When the /es drops 1% on a headline and oil jumps $8, then we'll know something is "impactful". Until then, a 7 pt move down in the /es that is IMMEDIATELY bought (and then some) tells us all we need to know about the impact of this war rhetoric.

.....though I wish there WOULD be a greater impact seeing as how every day the strait is close is one more day+ that I am going to pay higher prices for everything in the coming months....


FWIW, today would have the potential to the shooting star in an AMAZING evening star topping candle pattern for the /nq. But there's a long way to go before that transpires....

Will Iran give Trump the off ramp he so desperately wants? I cant see why they would. They are in a bit of a tight spot now, but that has been true for 47 years.

With no off ramp, then bombs are back on the table. Project Freedom was a serious escalation and was only stopped because the Saudis shut down their airspace, forcing Trump to stop.

Iran will make a deal. Will it be what the president wants? Nah. But if they "say" they will stop enriching for 10 years and then start again in 3, what's the harm to them?

In exchange, they will ask for something like sanctions being lifted on oil and can then sell at market pricing vs having to undercut like crazy in the past. If they make 50% more on their exports, that's a HUGE win.

China, meanwhile, gets screwed on energy prices which, arguably, was the intention all along.

The back and forth regarding who is "winning" or "losing" is all posturing at this point (at least according to global financial markets). The sad part is that, as always, it's the poorest of the world that are hit the hardest during situations like this.

Does someone in BFE Africa or Asia care if Iran had a nuke? Nope. But they do care that they can't get enough fuel to cook/fill the gas tank.

Finally, a 2-sided day in equities is forming though. Still a green /nq, but that's a big down move. Of course, we've seen EXACTLY this type of retracement a few times this week, haven't we? (most notably during the WED AM session).

A 38.2% retracement of the most recent daily fib session on the /nq puts us back to almost EXACTLY Tuesday's close (before the "war is over" news started in earnest). A natural retracement to that level, irrespective of the war info, would make a lot of technical sense. 61.8% takes us back to Monday's close (5/4). Not quite as clean, but plausible. Time will tell.

In fact, I think Donald Trump is very eager to meet Xi and he won't risk the meeting being called off.
