Although the war began at the end of February, Mr. Trump formally notified Congress of the operation on March 2, starting the 60-day period that ends on May 1.
Some Republicans have already signaled they will not support any extension beyond 60 days.
Senator John Curtis, Republican of Utah, wrote in an opinion essay earlier this month that he “will not support ongoing military action beyond a 60-day window without congressional approval.”

Under the statute, once the initial 60-day deadline passes, the president’s options for continuing a military campaign without congressional approval become limited. At that point, Mr. Trump would effectively have three choices: seek congressional authorization to continue the campaign, begin winding down U.S. involvement or give himself an extension.
The law allows a one-time, 30-day extension of the deployment if the president certifies in writing that additional time is necessary to facilitate the safe withdrawal of U.S. forces, but it does not grant authority to continue waging an offensive campaign.

From a military point of view, it has been proven that the Hezbollah/Hamas fighters can't stand up to the Israelis. They just don't have the kind of manpower, weaponry and other means that Israel has.
Now, the question is why do they insist to fight against Israel in that manner?

Is it because they find it to be their moral duty to fight the evil empire of Israel?

That is fine and dandy but it seems to always result in their own fighters and innocent people getting killed as well as many buildings and even land lost to their enemy.

So, to me it means just getting killed and having others get killed and constantly proving that Israel is one hell of an evil is what is the most important outcome of all the fighting. The suffering, the ever increasing list of the dead fighters and the innocent people killed and the photos and the stories of the defeat at the hands of Israel is the sought after product of all the fighting.

So far, all the list of all the killed and demolished and destroyed resulting from years of fighting hasn't produced any real victories for the fighters. So why do they insist on doing it over and over again?

I can think of only one answer:
We fought, got killed, got destroyed, lost more land and possessions than before BUT we refused to give in to the enemy.

That's all. That's it: PRIDE.

The only caveat is that their enemy happens to be fighting for the same thing. So pride for pride.
What is tie breaker then?
It is brute military force and the willingness and the resources to keep it going.

So at the very end, all the fighting just comes down to a show of who is stronger than the other.
