The US has been at war pretty much its entire existence. I'd have to research to find a few years here and there where no military campaign was taking place.

The pentagon is the largest employer and without wars it would look too much like welfare.

On another note:

So presumably, if the US lifts their blockade, Iran will open the strait to everyone then. That’s what his message says.

But if it’s just a “FAKE” blockade to save face, why all the drama from the Iranian First Vice President??

Or is it just another case of Iran can fire on Indian ships running the closed strait during the ceasefire, but US can’t fire on ships running their blockade because that’s breaking the ceasefire?? lol…

US seizes Iranian ship, says Trump
US President Donald Trump announced that the United States has seized an Iranian cargo ship. It was attempting to break the blockade Washington maintains around Iranian ports.

“Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA – nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier – attempted to break through our naval blockade and it didn’t go well for them,” Trump claimed in a post on Truth Social.

“The US guided-missile destroyer USS SPRUANCE stopped the TOUSKA in the Gulf of Oman and gave it a proper warning to stop,” Trump continued. “The Iranian crew refused to comply, so our Navy stopped them by blowing a hole in the engine room. The vessel is currently under the control of the US Marines.”

"TOUSKA is under sanctions by the US Treasury Department due to its previous history of illegal activity. We have full control of the ship and are determining what is on board!" the US president added.
