Yes but the exporting isn’t really a choice. Most US oil refineries are set up to process different grades from what we produce. Our refineries were built before shale revolution, which produces a lighter and sweeter version of crude than what we are set up to refine. It’s more efficient to export ours and import heavy sour, or mix the two together at our refineries.

US also produces more oil than it consumes so they have to export anyways

Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has been consistently implicated in the violent suppression of Iranian protesters throughout his military, security, and political career.

Historical Involvement in Crackdowns

1999 Student Protests: As commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force, Qalibaf was one of 24 commanders who signed an infamous letter to then-President Mohammad Khatami, threatening a military coup if the protests were not suppressed. He later admitted in a leaked audio recording to personally beating students with batons during these demonstrations.

2003 Student Uprising: While serving as Iran's police chief, Qalibaf reportedly ordered the use of live ammunition against protesters. He bragged to Basij paramilitary forces about obtaining permission to "shoot" at student dormitories during the "pincer attack" strategy he advocated to crush the movement.

Oil is the global market and right now US oil trades above UK oil.
It's going to trickle down to the price of gasoline in the US and the main point he won his election on (Biden high gas prices) is reversed (higher prices on Trump than on Biden).

Yeah, this tweet is not going to play well at home. He’s not playing his “3D chess” and just trying to take any perceived positive to gain traction and change the narrative.
With Mid-terms looming it’s not looking good for him. Record number of House Republicans leaving, opinion polls sinking, inflation rising, domestic chaos, broken promises….

Definite possibility of impeached lame duck being on the menu.

The only country helping to open the strait and get the world economy on track after the Iran regime's efforts to crash it is US.
All the countries suffering and waiting to be rescued need to thank US for their efforts.

You are the dumb to not know that the regime has been at war with its own people and has used Iran's funds and resources to fund it's militia in the middle east to stage the continuing wars. US didn't start the war, it is trying too end the war you dumb terrorist worshiper.

The closing of the strait wasn't a 'cause'. It was a deliberate act to crash the world economy and had been planned for many years by the mullas in order to continue their reign of terror on the region as well as the rest of the world.

What we do is speculate on the future events. You should not have bet against oil knowing there is orange monkey in the white house that makes stupid 'tweets' to move the market.
You've been played by the Trump family that profits from the extreme moves in the market that his idiotic tweets generate.

I'm long oil. Not sure if I should share...
It's not that I hope for the talks to go bad. It's just that it looks that it cannot go right. Iran's plan is the opposite of Trump's plan. Iran actually has the upper hand, but Trump cannot accept their terms and declare victory (victory he declared few times already)
