Well, even IF the country was not specifically named, you'd think a warring nation (Iran) that "wanted" to bring an end to hostilities would avoid attacking critical infrastructure of an ally to the 'ceasefire' nation (US)...especially when that ally country (Kuwait) has been defensive in nature during the war? Now, if Kuwait had been attacking Iranian energy facilities overnight or something, retaliation would make more sense.

....but maybe that's just me who thinks in such terms....

there are videos all over the net with murikan HIMARS, which is surface to surface missiles being fired at Iran from Kuwaiti territory, not to mention the jets, drones.

None of the bases in the region are defensive, they all are offensive - Iran also retaliate from the source of fire, meaning if Kuwaiti missile attacks its water system, it will not attack UAE water system, but return the favor to the source - thats how they create deterrence.

kuwait and the other gulf monarchies, equally Lebanon were all part of the ceasefire agreement.

Not that they probably don't want it to hold, but it is a dicey game. Will the US remove support for Israel? Very unlikely. BUT, the US not being happy with Israel when so many other countries are also dissatisfied is a recipe for disaster.....so there's a careful line to be walked.

To be sure, governments know more than "we" do as deals are made in public and more are made behind the scenes. Consider it equivalent to the "whisper number".

I'd say this is more likely to be Israel testing the limits of US tolerance of their breach of the ceasefire.

Trump's got an offramp. He knows the war is not popular, by far. He practically jumped at the opportunity yesterday. And Iran, for all their bravado and rejection of previous suggestions for a ceasefire, were unnaturally quick to confirm the ceasefire on their end.

Both 'primary' warring parties got an offramp they were desperate for. Israel, being notorious as they are, couldn't bear the thought of being dictated, indirectly. And this is all them testing just how far they can push their luck with violations before the US slaps them back down to reality.

Besides, with a distributed command structure in Iran, it's natural to assume that it would take a while for messaging to get through everywhere to stand down and for the guns to go silent. Even so, it makes absolutely no sense for Iran to target critical infrastructure of a neighbor and risk it all mere hours after it has had an opportunity to wind this all down.
