I think that this is Iran's tactic: put pressure on countries like China, Russia, and North Korea by closing the Strait in an effort to get them to join their side, which is obviously something that the U.S wouldn't want as they want to retain the status quo. It would also be really bad for the U.S in this war if these countries sided with Iran for obvious reasons, one being that them having access to the Strait would mean they could continue to share each others resources, which would give Iran a big advantage in this war because at the end of the day, it's a war of attrition. That's how it's always been - which country will run out of resources first?

After the 1979 revolution, the Ayatollahs was trusted (by the army) with holding the government in trust until elections could be held.
They were trusted because they claimed to be men of god and honest. They ran their candidates in the election along with many other parties.
The Ayatollahs's candidates were badly defeated. The Iranians selected a secular, well educated candidate with a lot of experience in politics but the Ayatollahs having had the power of the government in their hands, ousted him, ruled all parties illegal except their own and then declared from now on, they would allow only their chosen candidates to run for any and all elections.
That is how they hijacked the government and for 47 years, they have been running their dictatorship at the cost of wasting Iranian peoples wealth on supporting their proxies and making bombs.

S, let me ask you the same question. Why should the Iranians that never had a say in having these criminals run the country be the doormat for these extremist terrorists? Why do they have to get killed by the 1000's if they dare to voice their dissatisfaction with these imbeciles?
