Who remembers April 7th? And then April 9th? 6% up move in /nq on the 7th, which was retraced...then the 12% up day on "it's a good time to buy -DJT" tweet.

Time to take some large, out of the money bets here????




On April 7, 2025, a false report, amplified by an X (formerly Twitter) account known as "Walter Bloomberg" (@DeItaone), claimed that the White House was considering a 90-day pause on all tariffs except those on China. The tweet, which appeared around 10 a.m. ET, caused a temporary, massive rally in the stock market before the White House denied the report as "fake news," causing the gains to reverse.

I'm hoping for "leaked to test the market reaction and, thereby, weighing the risks/benefits to enacting the plan in the future". Yeah, the Energy Secretary had to fall on a sword here, but some assistant talking to the press wasn't going to get it done.

Either that, or the Occam's razor approach of: the tweet was prepped and then someone hit "send" too soon.

The thing that makes me wonder is: the world could call the administration on this immediately (because of real-time ship tracking), so maybe it was just a guffaw?

Total conspiracy theory? This was queued up to distract from/combat a negative CPI impact tomorrow and, again, it was sent too soon. But, that's me going WAY out on a limb.
