What Are Bitcoin Ordinals? A Beginner’s Explanation
Bitcoin has long been seen as digital money, but starting in early 2023, a new idea called Bitcoin Ordinals added a complicated wrinkle. Ordinals allow people to inscribe data directly onto the smallest units of bitcoin, called satoshis (or “sats”). That means a satoshi — once just a tiny fraction of a Bitcoin — can become a unique, traceable, and transferable digital artifact.
