I'm delighted to know you follow my posts with such devotion, in which case I'm surprised you overlooked the numerous times I have mentioned recently the likelihood that the Fed will cut in Dec and this should boost stocks and my stance on the indices was bullish. But I also can see the flip side and why this may not happen, with market going into reverse gear instead.

The issue I was addressing here was not the likelihood of a cut and that's effect on market, but the implication of a Fed that has no need for data to inform empirical quantitative decision making bec it's too busy licking someone's ass (or arse, subject to your location on the globe and application of the English language). You missed the point.

Or, market will vote with its feet, as it is currently doing. Loss of confidence in the Fed's "independence" from political interference. That and 2 CME outages in recent weeks doesn't exactly incline investors to stay in or go long. This selling into what would normally be end of month market bull strength is quite enthralling (and not unexpected). We'll see what London and then the US traders do with this.

I thought there are 19 members taking part in FOMC meetings and 12 vote. Fed Chair has one vote as equal to other 11 voters.

Am i missing something here.

If the market was voting then the spx would be 6200 not 6800 and ten year yields would be over 4.5 not 4. So currently the market is completely on board and loving lower interest rates. Were you not aware that the Fed stepped in on the 21st and literally stopped a correction and caused one of the biggest rallies all year? They did that by flipping the chance of cut from 33% to almost 90%.

That’s all the proof anyone needs that markets love lower rates more than anything on earth.

Incorrect again, I understood your point completely. Now that you have said we might go up or down I am sure that clears up everything lol. I posted about what things will look like next year when Powell is replaced, and your response was that markets are responding now, which is ridiculous. The es is down only a few points when you realize 30 points were just given back from the obvious marking on Friday. So to you a net 15 point move in the es is voting with their feet lol? The es should be down over 1.5% based on bitcoin and Japan, but it’s barely moving.

The question is how big does the bubble grow with very low rates and when does it pop? To say that the market is in anyway negative is ridiculous. 6800 on the SPX and 4% ten year are levels that you and others said were not possible. I know because every time I mentioned them coming months ago I was ridiculed by you and others.

I posted all morning on the 21st that we were going straight up for a big rally, then at 6830 I posted that I was no longer wildly bullish and moved up all my stops to get flat. That’s a 330 point move called in real time, but please keep telling me how clueless I am lol.
