    Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Beth Hammack estimated on Monday that inflation will not drop to the 2% target before the end of 2027 or early 2028, citing upside pressure, particularly in services, and uncertainty surrounding the impact of tariffs. Speaking to CNBC, she insisted that the Fed must maintain a restrictive monetary policy. Hammack expressed concern about inflation, conceding that the Fed has been "missing" its price stability mandate. Turning to the employment mandate, she assessed that the labor market remains "broadly healthy" and near her estimate of maximum employment.

Actually, weathermen often do make pretty accurate forecasts, depending on the time frame. My favourite weatherman is Jane Bunn, who happens to be female. And she does look good. I digress.

It is my opinion that people who make forecasts about the economy and who call themselves macro-economists are lying. At best, they may say what could happen on the balance of probabilities given the circumstances, but so can anyone.

Not to be confused with what "will" happen.

In 2023. they said that they expect 2% inflation in 2025.
In 2024. they said that they expect 2% inflation in 2026.
In 2025. they said that they expect 2% inflation in 2027.

In 2026. they will say that they expect 2% inflation in 2028.

Never ending bullshit...

Also, yields are suggesting that inflation is nowhere near 2%. Same with stocks, and especially with gold that is inflation hedge. According to gold, inflation is in double digits. Silver catching up finally and will shock the core of this rotten system.
