    The New York Department of Taxation and Finance will soon send the state’s “first-ever inflation refund” checks. New York Governor Kathy Hochul first announced the program in May. The one-time payment aims to provide financial relief from higher sales taxes due to inflation, according to the release. More than 8 million New Yorkers will receive refunds, according to the state. Payments will be mailed starting at the end of September. Eligibility is based on filing details from tax year 2023. Yup, nothing says vote for me more than handing in free stuff. Conservatives are gaining momentum and they can't have that. SMH

No sense in using that money to fix the crumbling infrastructure or to make the subways safe.

But what do I know. I only lived there for 31 years.

I'll wait for the members from France, Portugal, and the UK to weigh in on the situation. After all, they are experts on the American way of life.

Imagine giving $300 to a family that makes 300K per year. You know because when you only make 25K per month that 300 will at least pay for one month worth of Starbucks.
