Man gives up on recovering $920M in Bitcoin after 12-year battle to dig up lost hard drive in landfill
The story of the man who’s spent the last 12 years trying to recover a Bitcoin hard drive from a Wales, UK, landfill is coming to an end. And it isn’t a happy one. The man who used to own the hard drive has apparently given up on his quest. And the decision, unfortunately for him, was essentially made by others. James Howells, an early crypto adopter, amassed 8,000 BTC back when Bitcoin was worth peanuts.
