New Zealand to ban crypto ATMs in broader efforts to combat money laundering
New Zealand announced on Wednesday that it will ban cryptocurrency ATMs as part of its efforts to strengthen the country's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing regime. "Since 2019, the global financial and regulatory landscape has shifted significantly," Associate Justice Minister Nicole McKee said in a statement. "We need a smarter, more agile AML/CFT system – one that targets criminals' ability to launder money."
