This is amazing. I don't understand how you can just come out with arguments like this and expect to be taken seriously. Any tariffs Canada has on the US are not new news, so this begs the question – why come out with this announcement now? It's like we wake up one day and then decide, "Fuck my stupid neighbour, I'm fed up, it's time for me to teach him a lesson."

Apart from just a market manipulation effort, I really don't see the reason for this announcement. We all know none of the world leaders are actually taking him seriously on this anymore. Not after what he did the last few times...

But I guess it's another chapter from "The Art of The Deal"

About 60% of U.S. crude oil imports are from Canada, and 85% of U.S. electricity imports as well.

Canada is also the largest foreign supplier of steel, aluminum and uranium to the U.S. and has 34 critical minerals and metals that the Pentagon is eager to obtain.

About 80% of Canada’s exports go to the U.S

The tariff saga begins again. This is just one country whom many assumed was mission accomplished .

Thanks for the link, it’s very insightful. It says Biden was also annoyed at the Canadian quotas and so was NZ who sued them.

You’re putting the cart before the horse though.
With over quota Tariffs of well over 200 percent, is it really any wonder they have never gone over the quota??
Because it’s a trade limiting quota isn’t it.
