I don't disagree that the markets are forward looking....and my portfolio desperately wants you to be right (with zero drawdowns), BUT......

Putting aside negative US consumer sentiment (which can be a bit driver for immediate spending, and, thus lower forward returns), just how far ahead does the market look? That has always been of interest to me . We have seen drawdowns. We have seen pullbacks. We have (those of us who have been doing this long enough) seen multi-year bear markets and global recessions.

Few can point to "data" and confirm we are in the latter presently. The data just do not support that claim. HOWEVER, the price action doesn't support the claim that we are fully over this situation yet either. Only in hindsight will we know for sure. This is either the middle of the next leg up, or it is a point similar to the start of 2007 or the 2018 period where we bottomed, retested the highs, and then took them out a year later.

Personally, I really like the monthly wick (though it wiped out SO much more money than added due to the dramatic nature of moves....especially for short term traders). I am staying bullish until proven otherwise, but I would not be surprised by a 3/6/9 month retest of the lows as the global impact of trade deal delays soft through cracks in the global economy, including here at home, and create further cause for cautiousness.

Here's hoping this is just the start of another 2-4 year run with zero large pullbacks.....because technical "20% down from highs" bear markets (/nq) are NOT supposed to 3 times in 5 years!
