US Sen Kirsten Gillibrand hopes to introduce comprehensive stablecoin bill in next few weeks

Stablecoins are the one part of crypto that actually needs new laws. They're commodities, but their operators have security-like control. The SEC can't regulate a commodity, and the CFTC doesn't have the audit tools needed to regulate the security-like control. It was illegal to make your own currency before stablecoins came along.

Whatever laws these bums come up with, I wouldn't want to be in the stablecoin business. Central banks will eventually create their own digital currency, at which time stable coins will be made illegal.
