Only Apple knows the 'real' reason(s) it was removed but if you look at videos on YouTube, like this one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkq9qb7eSDw you can see how simple it is to set up a fake White Label 'live' broker and manufacture fake trades, remove trades, and basically generate a completely false history of success using MT4/5.

Once you've convinced enough followers that you're the real deal, you 'butcher the pig' and take their money. That's the most likely reason that Apple removed MetaQuotes. What kind of messed up corporate culture would make something like this? A scammer's culture. Sad to say, if MetaQuotes wasn't Russian, it might never have occurred to them that they need to build something that basically makes scamming easy. That sort of corruption mindset hasn't infected much of the rest of the world (yet).

The problem is, you can't do business with entities you don't trust. Eventually the breakdown of trust makes all dealing impossible. This is how Depressions start.

The comments on these videos are mostly from other scammers who are trying to funnel people who have lost money to their telegram channels where they will 'recover' your money for a fee. Also a scam.

It's just an ecosystem of scams. Trust no one.

No mate. It has nothing to do with sanctions. This is a pure security measure against possible threat and a scam.
MT4 and MT5 for mobile platforms with iOS operating systems are still available for the users who already have installed those ones before. Which means that if you for some reason decide to reset your device, your copy of MT4/5 will be still available to you via "purchased apps". Only new users cannot download these apps, which indicates some security issue within Apple AppStore.

Just start AppStore and go to purchased then type MetaTrader and you will se them both available there if you have had them from before. Even if you uninstall them or reset your device, MT4/5 will be there for you.

1) mt4.exe offered by brokers will always be around. back then in the early 2000s, mt4 was a software for purchase like microsoft office. the only thing i see getting hit is mt5 which is a subscription license model. ie; your broker owns the mt4 software because they purchased it years ago, nothing to do with russian war.

2) will i get future mt4 updates? - NO, mt4 has reached legacy product status, MTQ has stopped updating the software as of 2021.

3) will my broker be able to offer new instruments? - YES. mt4 and insturments offered has no direct correlation.
in a nutshell, broker buys instrument feed from aggregators. and pipes it to mt4 via API. mt4 is merely a vessel.

MT4 and MT5 for Windows and Mac are primarily distributed via the brokers as it looks like each broker wants to have its own branded version. I won’t be surprised if they will soon provide their own services for downloading and installing the mobile versions of MetaTrader through their websites. As mobile trading “On The Go” is getting more and more popular, the reasons to do so can be many. For example get rid off all unwanted plugins and add-ons or implementing unique fir the broker features.
Interesting developing story nevertheless. It seems strange that Apple and MetaQuotes haven’t commented on the case yet.

TradeStation, NINJA TRADER, TradingView Mobile Platform (available for Apple products)
Those are platforms supporting developing and use of EAs for automated trading. There can be a few more which I don't know about.

The problem here is the time consuming process of developing and testing of these EA and Indicator pieces of software as all these platforms use their own programming language. In addition comes the cost of bugs and failing. I am a programmer myself and it took me almost two years to create and stabilize a system of 1 EA and 5 indicators to a point that it takes me with minimum failures through both choppy and trending markets. This is not an easy process and I understand the worries and the skepticism spreading around because of this news.

I guess the all existing (already downloaded and installed) apps will work as long as the brokers allow these apps to access the servers. As of now no one has any reason to prohibit these apps to access their servers which means they will still work. How long - difficult to say. I doubt the GASO ( https://www.globalantiscam.org/post/metatrader-has-fraud ) has the power to dictate the brokers what they can use and cannot use.

Nobody needs to block anything. MetaQuotes does not participate actively in the FOREX process and MetaTrader 4 & 5 are user end ready distributed software products. It means they do not depend on the Russian brothers in order to work. However the frontend which is MetaTrader cannot be used without the backend. In order to solve this issue, the deal with the Russian brother should be terminated and another backend solution developed. FOREX is the most powerful financial industry in the world and doing exactly that shouldn’t be any problem whatsoever

On the other hand, people with programming knowledge and skills are not limited to the quasi C syntax and endless number of bugs in the MetaTrader environment. Whatever your programming language is, as long as it supports http requests, you can do very very much in terms of automation, provided you master Jason as well because the most request bodies are strings sent as Jason records.

today its just apple ,tomorrow ,who knows...uncertanity ..all these acts , giving a warning signs of big ,economic troubles ,depression ,whatever in future of fx industry , as it gets affected (the most liquid market) ..most people who rely on MT EA's are now in panic ..

.exe - windows .dmg - apple( .dmg is a disk image for Mac that may hold an executable program for Mac. The .dmg mounts as a disk drive, and from there you can run the program or installer, whichever is on the .dmg. )

As an Apple user I don't participate in the never-ending war between IOS and Android. IOS is solid enough for my purposes. It's easy to use and secure. The restrictions can be annoying, yes, but it's not annoying yet to the point where I would consider switching to Android. I am an ex-BlackBerry user and do occasionally miss the open source, but whatever, as stated IOS is fine for me, (for now).

It is really great news. There have been a lot of Asia mafia scammer lately with the mt platform. For those of you who haven't lose significantly in the so called pig butcher scam won't understand how painful it is because so many people trust the meta trader platform because they feel it is a reputable app but a lot of scams has been going on lately with no one to held accountable at the end. It will be better for the meta trader app to be block in all platform until they clean up and come with a stricter better policy that will make it difficult for scammer to get license to operate. This isn't about Apple or android but I think a reputable company will definitely watch out for the safety of their customers first. Now let support every other company to follow the same step

I am really sorry for those victims, but losing money on forex is common thing, because everybody is live trading while the haven't even been trained for this. Would you ever drive a car without going to a driving school first? Then why are you people live trading without being educated first??? Forex is not for everybody. Everyone should trade only after they have educated themselves about forex, have completed technical analysis, made a risk management plan, a trading plan and back-tested their any strategy for at least 100 trades.
