While having 4.7 trillion on the table, calling them both urgently needed, and for basic needs, he rambles on about the debt. He has the votes to pass a debt ceiling increase but chooses to make it political. And all this after pushing through several other trillion dollar bills and maintaining pay for not working well beyond any defensible need.

How ridiculous are these present bills? Page 168 of the bigger one has the government paying half the salaries of journalists.
