Mr Breakout replied Aug 10, 2011Not necessarily Price, if you are a swing trader and only trade once or twice a month (and your stop/take profit are in place), you will be left with plenty of time to spend with your family. Of course the hardest part is to stay away from the ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 10, 2011Good call Jag1966, you used two excellent price action tools on this trade : 1: the excellent lower-high lower-low principle. This pattern must necessarily precede any potential downtrend. 2: the change of polarity principle, when support becomes ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 10, 2011Obviously Reres does not even know that they are 2 types of drawdowns, the first one relates directly to the trader starting capital, and then there is the maximum drawdown, which is simply the largest drop in equity from a peak to a bottom in a ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 10, 2011When and IF BOJ intervenes again, it will be all over the map, we will all see a huge wide range bar (on the hourly charts for example) and if there is some follow-through then we can start thinking about buying USD/JPY, it is that simple, there is ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 9, 2011No they won't, confronted to the same situation people will react the same way over and over again. For example throw a snake in a crowded restaurant and 100% of the time people will scream and run for the nearest exit. And that's precisely that ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 9, 2011No, in this backtest (and other backtests) as soon as we have a signal we simply buy/sell on the next day open, there is no "repaintaing" of any kind. Same thing could be said for exponential moving averages and other TA indicators.

Mr Breakout replied Aug 9, 2011So according to Reres, Bollinger bands (BB) and other TA indicators are just crap and we cannot make money with them. Ok, then let's put them to the test and see if Reres is right... We will sell when the price touches the lower Bollinger Band and ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 9, 2011When you mix Fundamentals with TA you only create confusion and indecision. Fundamentals = This and that "should" happen because according to blah... blah... blah... TA = This is what IS happening right now, jump aboard and make money. You could ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 9, 2011Carry-trading works. Until a huge 13,000 pip correction wipes out all your profits, traders who carry-traded the GBP/JPY in 2007 know what I am talking about. Long-Term Capital Management (LTCM) lost nearly 5 billions playing that game. Sure, short ...

Mr Breakout replied Aug 9, 2011I know, but like I said in a previous thread, Soros also used his "judgment" and lost Billions betting against the Euro and other currencies. And during all that time, a simple moving average could have prevented those catastrophic losses.

Mr Breakout replied Aug 9, 2011You are welcome. The minute the trader tries to "predict" anything he is finished. A trading system does not predict, it simply exploits a statistical bias, just like a BlackJack card counter does not try to predict the value of the next card, he is ...
