HiddenGap replied Mar 15, 2011Since the ES is currently tanking, I will answer a question from a PM with the ES as an example. This was from the day session. First, the trigger number/level concept comes from Gavin Holmes. The idea is not specifically mentioned in MTM or ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 14, 2011Good question. I believe that London does have daylight savings, although not on the same date as the states in the U.S. that observe it. So that means for now the London session starts at 4:00 NY time. I am still checking on this though.

HiddenGap replied Mar 14, 2011Yes, Gavin uses the term counter-manding signal. But that does not mean you do the opposite. If you saw the test at the trigger, your entry was on the next bar as it breached the high of the test bar. It turns out that the next bar closed lower ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 14, 2011Here's the chart. The bar in question is a failed test if your definition is that the next bar must be up. If you allow for the next bar to be down (while not making a lower low) and then the next bar up, then it is a good test.

HiddenGap replied Mar 14, 2011Well, that bar was selling. So we would initially be looking for shorts at that level. So if price falls below it and then attempts to move above on No Demand.... But, if the market moves down to that level on No Supply or a Test, listen to what the ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 14, 2011Nice pick up on the failed test. I saw that too. There is a "new" trigger level. Do you see that?

HiddenGap replied Mar 14, 2011The term squat does indeed come from Bill Williams. The technical definition is a bar with increasing volume and a decreasing MFI. However, Bill's "short hand" definition is simply a bar with a narrow range (as compared to the previous bar) and ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 11, 2011Market's biatch — As if on cue, the market shows a principle and brands me a liar in one fell swoop. LOL Take a look at the chart below. The trade itself was not great and if and how much money one made would depend on what is done after the ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 10, 2011Well, as I said in another thread, I am much more myopic. I'm trying to cut down on what I look at. Currently I only look at 2.5 charts: the daily profile chart and then my trading screen as seen below. As a tape reader trading off a 5 min chart, ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 10, 2011See chart on prior post for details........ A question was asked about using the POCs as trend determination. Let's take a look. Suppose we define trend in the following ways: 1. Two consecutive lower POCs (POCvs) is a down trend. 2. Two consecutive ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 10, 2011Trend — Here's a chart of my profiles. As previously posted, the trend is now down. The current day's profile is a pretty normal distibution type day.

HiddenGap replied Mar 10, 2011If your trading plan is such that you only trade in the direction of the trend, then you would only be looking for shorts. Two days ago the market found value lower and signaled a trend change to down. Once you knew that, all you would need do is ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 10, 2011Leave it to Intel to take it up a notch. For those using trigger numbers/levels, here's more: If you get a No Demand or Test that is a NR4 or NR7 they make good low volume trigger numbers/levels. Especially, in the case of No Demand, for example if ...

HiddenGap replied Mar 9, 2011I started with that definiton of trend and still look at it as well. It's a good way to determine trend but a bit lagging. In truth, all the AMT ways that I have seen are "lagging" in defining trend. This is pretty ironic since AMT gives us leading ...
