I'm a little surprised at this posting. While I am, indeed, a technical trader, I pay a lot of attention to fundamental announcements as they can cause market movements. You need to consider not just today's data, but, what's happened over the ...

Every slip I've ever had has happened when my price was hit and the slip came afterwards. Not a single broker has corrected the issue despite their claim that they will fill at "the next available tick." The worst violator was FXDD. Good luck with ...

Guys, I'm kind of puzzled by all of these good trades this week. My EA showed a nasty week this last week. Here are the trades (format: Date : Direction Currency: Lot 1 / Lot 2) 11/14: Sell GBPUSD: 40/50 11/14: Buy USDCHF: -57 11/15: Sell EURUSD: ...

I agree. It's hard to tell from your question whether you've coded the EA's to not conflict with each other. On the second EA, you would need to add code that states that if there is a magic number, don't mess with it. Then, there will be no ...

Doesn't oanda have an upper and lower limit that allows you to prevent severe slippage? I use that often when I trade the news.

First, I want to clarify that the tax issue I brought is relative to US residents. Second, I don't believe that it's not a matter of personal conscience. Well, I guess it is. It's a matter of whether one is willing to break the law and accept ...

To ycomp's point, I don't know of any brokers that will withhold taxes. I'm not even sure it's legal. But, many will report a 1099 to the IRS. Others may not, but, their local laws may make it easy for the IRS to see that you have an account with ...

WTB, I'm not with EFX Group, but, I could perhaps share my experiences with ECN's generally. First, on the cost issue, it's $5 USD. If you're trading EURUSD, then EUR is the base currency and needs to be converted to USD. All currencies where USD is ...

ycomp, The tax issue is a bit tricky. I think MIG has been misleading traders into thinking that taxes are not required and that they don't report to the IRS, so, you don't have to pay. In reality, you have to pay taxes regardless of the country. ...

There's probably a lot of different answers to your question. A lot will depend on your broker, but, there are things you can do to minimize their impact on you. For instance, rather than hardcoding the stop into the order, I use a stop set in the ...

The last Fozzy trade on GBPUSD yielded an average of 45 pips. At 40 pips, 1/2 the position was taken out, stops moved to breakeven. Trailing started and the price came back on the whipsaw to stop me out at +50 pips. The USDCHF and EURUSD trades did ...

The Fozzy 2.2 EA just issued alerts for EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDCHF. No alert was issued for version 2.1. (Remember, 2.2 is the one that calculates correctly. But, 2.1 is the one that has proven more successful in backtesting.)
