Good to caution. Impact may be indirect. For instance if he says the fed intends to throw some more billions $$$ in the economy, we might see gold react to that. I always wait at least 30' after any important release anyway. I don't follow the Pound ...

It is always time to buy, depending on your time frame. For a long term trade at this level you either put on a huge stop or wait for it to retrace, some time next week.
