Haha, u r welcome. Ref fundis I actually switch news off, radios etc, cos they skew my pa trading. I use the monthly / weekly charts to trade the lower tfs with absolute confidence. I can see the trend reversals easily that way.

Aaron, I think we are on the same page buddy, I greatly respect your views BTW. I am so laid back now I don't give a fig about fundis (I have studied it in depth, enough to know I don't need them), nor about what the biggest money is doing, the ...

Thanks Marv, that is exactly what I meant, even the big money (bank traders etc) are at the mercy of the biggest money, I have no idea what the "biggest money" actually is but I know it is there and it manipulates the market.

you will go far — Well said, trading profitably is about confidence, the confidence to hold trades when the big boys games get silly; their job is to fake us into trades in the wrong direction or scare us out of trades we know are right, you ...

It was most likely ignored because for some of us the exact same thing could be said for pa, trend analysis and support and resistance, forget the rest. LOL

Agreed, "hope" is a dirty word, there are good trends and bad ones, work out the difference and you are sorted.
How do you distinguish a retracement from a trend reversal?
- jag1966 replied Nov 26, 2011
Brilliant advice, just add swings and cycles into the mix and you will know when a trend on any given timeframe is over. Every retracement has its own valid trend. What I mean to say is, "trends work on EVERY timeframe", take that to the bank.

I disagree, if you study TA and PA for long enough you certainly DO NOT have to rely on money management and 3-1 reward risk to be profitable. You absolutely can learn what price will do. The people who think TA only works 50% of the time have no ...

Lose all the indicators as soon as you can and concentrate on horizontal support and resistance with trend analysis.

Naked trading works just fine for me, it took me years to dump all indis but now they are just a distraction. You just met the wrong naked traders.

thought provoking thread, great — It is amazing how much you forget about what changes were useful until others mention them. Slow down was a great one, that worked for me also. Not thinking in terms of money helped me alot too. Add to my ...

Cheers Jin, in the spirit of the thread, another thing I changed in order to become profitable was to stop believing that I had to find trades with a 2-1 or even 3-1 reward risk, that's another load of boll***s spewed by people that cannot think for ...

We are retail traders, why compare what we do with huge funds? I see no point risking 1% and holding a trade for days and days or weeks even just to make a measly 2%-5%, why not risk 1% per trade and make 5 or so trades per day? When you get good at ...
