Best to wait for break and then get in on the re-test. You'll get a better price with less risk.

What do you think about all of the long bottom wicks on 1 hour chart. Do you give much importance to them? The wicks seem to be screaming long, but other than that I am seeing bear sign all over the place. Thanks!

What are everyone's thoughts on the vote to extend the U.S debt celing just now? Good for US equities. Doesn't seem to have much effect on AUD?

Unfortunately, there is no rule set in stone for this. Most of the time you will see them drawn from complete lows to highs or vice versa. However, many people like to start them from big moves, breakout bars, etc. One thing you can do is try both ...

Thanks! I prefer trading the AUD to most other vehicles. Respects fibs well which is what my system is based on. Trying a scalp at 0520 if we get there. TP 550, S 0495.

For bears. The highest volume on the hourly chart seen since almost 2 weeks ago occurred today on a down bar which closed on it's lows. This is /6A which is reliable volume. Could just be profit taking but may be an early clue of selling pressure.

For shorting the AUD, if you are concerned about negative swap, you should take a look at futures. /6A trades exactly the same, with no swap. commissions are less, fixed 1 pip spread, you have Globex actual volume data (volume is key) which is not ...

Anyone shorting this? I'd love to, but been burned by shorting the AUD at highs too many times, this pair loves to climb! My best guess is a long entry around 0530. Think it will retrace that far? Anyone still bearish expecting a break of the 0500 ...

I used to think the same way. In today's market, U.S. fundamentals are used as a general gauge for risk appetite. Bad news for U.S. often results in a "risk off" atmosphere, resulting in money moving out of risk assets and into the USD, which is ...

No easy answer for this. Depends on time of day and circumstances. Given that london is now closed, today's resistance may be tough to break before end of day. Best thing to do is just look at how price is reacting to S/R on a 5 min time frame. ...

What is everyone's experience with daily pin bars like today's? In your history of looking at the market, does a hammer/shooting star on the daily negate any short term bias? Before today I was pretty bearish (still holding short from 1.3) but after ...

Hi Gator, I've been lurking in this thread for quite a while and haven't been able to figure out how you calculate your numbers. At first I thought you were just looking at S/R, but now I know there is more to it. I know you get a bunch of requests ...
