Jared replied Jan 10, 2008Hey Thex, Do mind clarifying a little on where you place your stops based on the "conservative strategy" from your Nov. pdf? I'm not talking about what you do with the 1 min chart trailing the stop, I mean based on just what you have in your pdf ...

Jared replied Jan 10, 2008My understanding of this is different brokers = different data = differrent fib levels. "To the pip" of which broker? Because brokers are different you need to take that into consideration.

Jared replied Jan 10, 2008Early? Its 4 am here! Geez. Maybe I need to move to England so I can stay awake during London session. Currently have swing fib on last 2 candles, looking for a scalp. The problem is, the bias is long and the trend is short. Maybe I'll wait for a ...

Jared replied Jan 10, 2008So, you have created a conservative approach for a foundation to work with (close position at T1, trade only in direction of original bias), now you can just look for ways to improve it, creating more high probability entries and letting profits ...

Jared replied Jan 10, 2008I've found it works best in combibation with the fib method. It allows trades (mostly scalps) that would normaly be passed up, especially by the standards of your Nov. pdf, and the fibs also prevent bad trades by showing levels to use caution ...

Jared replied Jan 10, 2008Do you know of a good resource to learn Gann lines? A book, perhaps another thread?

Jared replied Jan 9, 2008So, are you just waiting for a bigger move out of this consolidation before you place your swing fib? I placed the swing fib on the chart below, is this not a good spot?

Jared replied Jan 9, 2008The way you have been moving your stops up on the 1 min looks very similar to Kharvell's strategy (here url ).

Jared replied Jan 7, 2008I just went through 2 years on the daily with vHands. It was very profitable in testing but I still don't think I have confidence to wait out massive drawdowns that last 2-3 months. However, I didn't get stopped out at all during the test.

Jared replied Jan 7, 2008I have been using vHands and not really demo trading much (I'm easing my wife into the idea of working night shift). I don't intend to scalp but most of the time that is what I end up doing, watching PA closely, because price might hit T1 or T2 on a ...

Jared replied Jan 7, 2008Exits — I might be having a similar problem to jicjoc, I'm not sure exactly when to exit. I have tried a few different ways with vHands. What has been working the best involves watching price action closely with the 1 hr and exiting when price ...

Jared replied Jan 4, 2008Well, too bad for Onada! There are pro's and cons to hedging, so I can see why some might not think this is a good idea. Pros: say market goes against you (or farther then you expected anyway), hedge and when the market becomes more predictable ...

Jared replied Jan 4, 2008Ever thought about just opening a position in the opposite direction (hedging) when the drawdown gets uncomfortable? You lock in a pre determined loss, which if the market becomes more predictable down the road you can turn into a win. If it doesn't ...

Jared replied Jan 4, 2008At this point I am just testing these methods, and do it manually. As you may have noticed with vhands a candle will not be doing much and then all of a sudden shoot up to 138 and retreat quickly. What I do is when it comes close put a stop closely ...

Jared replied Jan 4, 2008One thing Bobokus stressed in his thread was that don't expect the fib levels to be honored to the pip. Differen't brokers = different data, etc. As long as it is close it counts.
