It isn't really a case of blasting fundis, after 5 or so years studying forex, techies worked for me, many many others say the same. For us there really is no need for fundis at all. Once you understand charts they don't lie, the same cannot be said ...
Fundamental vs Technical

Err, 1.25 by March, more like next week by the looks of it LOL. As for fundis I wouldn't know, I avoid them by choice, todays Cable / EU sell off / strong dollar was a no brainer due to the daily/weekly technicals IMHO.

With you all the way DC, there is just no need for trying to understand all that fundi crap, hats off to those that can trade it tho. Long cable off every pullback today, what a day.

great post, I would like to add, indis needed? 0%. Priceaction? 100%
Price action is dumb, and you're lazy for thinking otherwise

If you can devise a price action system that works 95% of the time AND explain why it works then I guess you are onto a winner then.

The problem isn't about kidding yourself you are better than others, IMHO it is not realising the work needed to master trading. Think how much work and study professionals in any field have to put in before they become qualified, doctors, lawyers, ...

Working through the thread and glad I got to this post before commenting once again on the NON randomness of the markets. The only people who think they ARE random are the people who haven't put the required amount of study into forex. Do the ...
Do you guys find that forex trading sucks?

another good post. Who gives a sh*t about compounding except the deluded dreamers. We are here to make a living. Do it for long enough and you will gradually increase your trade sizes and your account size with it.

This is an interesting thread and that is a great post. The OP does seem to have forgotten that skillful daytraders can consistently add huge percentages to relatively small accounts (10 - 20k) then extract the profits and do it all over again ...
Do you guys find that forex trading sucks?

Last week I mirrored most of my trades on a demo account to prove to anyone that wants to know that they can double a small account in a week using strict money management rules. In this case £3k to over £6k. I have been rough with a cold so I ...

Nice picture, sorry I grew out of the multi monitor, multi instrument, multi timeframe, multi indicator and newsfeed phase a while back. Now I just need one laptop, naked candle charts and a few dollar related pairs at most in order to make the ...

Like Razor said, "you are trading what the market will give you" If you understand the levels and why the price is moving to those levels then you just take the trade, even if the risk is 4 to 1 against (I try to avoid those trades but if the gap is ...

TBH I know what I and my group of traders can do, unlike you, I am not thinking or wondering about it. I started out by believing all the hype about the big players only shooting for 50% a year etc, well we are NOT big players so we don't have to ...

- jag1966 replied Dec 17, 2011
Losing 50% of your account should only be a newb problem, admittedly alot of us do it when we start out but once you implement strict money management that should never happen. As for reaching brokers limit whatever happened to having a high ...

Yet another very nice post. Believe what Bearman says, I do almost exactly what he mentioned, I make about 20 trades a week yet need no more than an hours chart time a day. It takes time to build your own method but even it it takes five years it is ...

Good points, especially about only knowing you have made it when you get the self distruct trait out of your trading. As faceme said in the prior post, 2-3 trades a day will give you a potential of 20% a week providing you have a high win rate and ...
