IB will provide some of the best futures commisions out there, but not the most innovative charting/trading platforms. TradeStation is opposite, slightly higher commisions (though still less than TD thinkorswim) but with top of the line software. ...

Yes and the fact that they cleared short stops before the event risk seems bearish imo.

Depends on how you look at it. Better to make (or lose) a few pips on a tight range day as opposed to being on the wrong side of a huge move on a more volatile day. Ranges are the easiest part of trading imo.

Exactly right. Lots of power on the contrarian side. Many don't give this concept the attention it deserves.

Just wanted to throw this out there to see what you all think... When AUD/USD was around 86 the RBA came out and said they wanted it at 85 and under. There was also a bunch of "articles" talking about big funds positioning short. Well since that ...

This statement is absolutely ridiculous, buddy! There is just no catalyst for this to occur. Maybe next week!

Though I agree that it is going down at some point, your statement is more bullish than anything, based on a contrarian view. Let's get the sheep buying and then it will surely come down!

Terrific thread, and a big thanks to all who have contributed. From an institutional trader's perspective, do you feel that Fibonacci retracements provide any useful insight to market direction? Over years of trading I have come to disregard most ...

The thing about those types of news events is that even if you are right, you can be stopped out on really wide spikes each way before/after the announcement. Like others have said, it is gambling. Good luck!

Is anyone else thinking that if they choose not to cut the rate, this could be the low for many months? It seems the move downward was a bit excessive. Possible volume gap that will likely close over the next few days? Good luck everyone!

If the news doesn't break this support we are at, then we are looking at a nice bull flag. I'd rather it break downard so we could all get a nice easy run down, but if not I'll buy the re-test of the flag breakout to the north.
