      shanebailey, im a newbie too. the cable has brought pips, but i trade full time, so i babysit every position. if you can't look after the open trades, i'd suggest staying away, it is a quite volatile pair.. also it depends your style, day / swing / ...

      i would think most of the big trades are managed by computer programs. so it wouldn't be surprising that these two pairs are closely correlated. the computer looks into cable's movement and instantaneously decided to buy/sell on the other pair.
