doblece replied Feb 4, 2009Indeed, for a longer trade, a higher timeframe is better. However, it also needs much wider stops. This system fits any trading style, scalping, intraday or longer term trading, that's the beauty of THV3!!

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009You can take it, if all the rules are met, of course... but you will probably get a better entry point (which means a better stop loss placement) by looking at M1. If you open the trade based on solely M5, your stop would have to be set accordingly ...

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009Seems your broker's server is located at GMT. (broker setting = 0) In that case, your pivots are ok if you want to base the daily on GMT time. For the market hours, you will have to set "0" as the time. Check anyway.

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009Thanks Karun, anyway the info has been added to the Manual so everyone can have it at hand. These are for SDX Pivots though. The setting for the Market Hours is only one, and would be the same as the first setting of SDX (Broker time vs. GMT). THE ...

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009Mostly channels/trendlines. For example, if in M30 and M5 price is at the top of the channel (different channels, of course, each on its timeframe and evolution range), I won't be taking a long position even if M1 gives the green light, I will ...

doblece replied Feb 3, 20091. To spot the trend more easily and be able to go with it if expecting a potential longer trade. 2. The small TF is used to get a better entry on the higher one: if you trade on M5, you look for an entry on M1 when you have the setup on M5. 3. ...

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009Only way to open a trade without getting many requotes is to wait for the exact moment of the open of the next candle, there's usually a small "pause" where you can place the trade and price is not moving (unless you're in the middle of news, of ...

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009I don't set a fixed stop but usually close it under 20 which is my maximum stop. However, I wait until I can get the best possible entry so the trade goes my way immediately or barely goes back 5-10 pips max. My R:R is awful (average winner around 5 ...

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009When you get a trade context error you have to close and restart MT4, if not you won't be able to open a new trade later on (at least on mine it does that). 5 pips TS is pretty tight even for M5, as it is close to the usual fluctuation... unless you ...

doblece replied Feb 3, 2009Also check under the "Trix sound file" setting, and change "Trix Cross.wav" to "trixcross.wav" which is the original sound name (check anyway inside the sounds folder, to put the exact name, if you had renamed it).
