Hi MPP, Is that 3.2 spread the average you pay per pair over the basket? If so, what broker do you use?

Depends on how many pairs you need to trade to mirror the same results / smoothed movement (if your able to pick those pairs) and on what size you need to trade those pairs to get the same overall result. When you ditch a lot of pairs, you will need ...

In my normal daytrading I risk up to 1%, mostly below .5%. The leverage I use is up to 6 and believe me, I do make some nice profits with those risk settings. What I said before, hard stop would be max 2.5%, which is pretty high for me, but it's à ...

Thanks, will see where it ends, would be nice if it won't. Best of pips to you too!

Positive thinking! I am not really new or something... That's the nice part of manual back (and forward) testing, you get a lot of screen time! I have read through threads here and there for a long time and never followed a system that was shared, ...

Ok, with the slightly different strategy (exit, entry) that I used in the manual backtest it's a little different. This different approach is not something I came up with trough optimizing afterwards, just some set of rules/settings that I prefer to ...

As they are calculated in reverse xxxCHF instead of CHFxxx they move opposite of their correlated pairs. In the backtest I don't see any proof (over a too small testing period, ok) that there is need for those pairs as a hedge. The performance is ...

Ok, not wanting to change anything to Kos's system, here is what I have seen so far on a manual backtest over the 14 pairs for the last two months using basket entry times. This test is not sufficient at all, only 35 trades, so don't add to much ...

Hi Diceman, By reversing the u/c and g/c, do you have to change anything in the basketv6 code as well?

transaction costs depend on your pos size. In the basket you trade 14 pairs with a smaller size then when trading only one pair. Gbpjpy might be leading, but the smoothing by using more pairs makes it less volatile, which makes sense (to me anyway).

Thanks will check! For those interested, during the time period that I used for my analysis the total pip gain is >10000. This was by using little adjustments as I like trendlines and momentum. Not a total different thing, no disrespect to the ...

No sorry, it woud be verre helpful, it's hard to check for setups om à 15m timeframe with maybe 1 trade à day. Can't sit behind a desk forever, but still i don't want a ea/robot. I want to see if a setup fits for me and on the other hand, I prefer ...

I am looking at relative behaviour of the pairs in the basket and will try to find à good replacement for the eurchf as it doesn't make sense to trade this pair. Will let you know what i come up with. Question for you, the ea you build is that ...

kos For exit's at BE, after +150pips is reached, do you use the bar's close above/below the entry point to close your trade or do you use inter-bar high/low price levels? I ask cause I am doing some analysis to see if adding a different exit makes ...

Hi ananthhh, Will try it out tomorrow. Is it based on the HAS indicator alone? Would be nice if it works with email as an alert to look out for a possible new set-up, when using larger time frames.

I have looked into the code to add an email alert for the heikin ashi smoothed next to the already existing pop-up and sound alert. In short, I can't do it! Hope someone else is able to do it, would certainly help to track for new ...

If you are referring to FX indexes, yes probably. Still you don't know where we're heading in a minute, day or month and which pair/index will be in a range or trending (except for the eurchf) in any future timeframe. What I meant to say is that ...

Problem here is that not all pairs have an equal ATR while trading the same lot size per trade. Would be hard to adjust the basket for the lot size per individual pair. Maybe a hard stop on what you're willing to risk based on the pair that has the ...
