Looked at EURUSD this morning and saw this BEOB at a swing high. So why is it bouncing back from 1.30?

Manual SL — That is interesting; i read in August Silvani's book about banks colluding by coincidence to hit obvious stop levels and take the commissions. Were your stops at even numbers? My method depends on the trade. Today I am up 1100+ ...
Question about setting stops

Your answer sounds (to me) as if you are also suggesting support and resistance levels. Perhaps I need to combine them with trend lines?
Question about setting stops
- oradba replied Aug 3, 2011
Setting stops — When I am using pivots or Fibo retracements, I use support and resistance for stops. They more or less work; but for the higher TF support or resistance can be kind of far off - that was why I had gone to using ATR/2. Perhaps ...

Question about setting stops
Started Aug 3, 2011|Trading Discussion|6 repliesI am demo trading at the moment - higher TF (H1,H4,D1 using M5 to confirm direction at entry). ...

I think I might see my confusion. When checking PA on lower TF I often see RSI differing. (In M5 and M1 it's a living thing). Should I be ignoring RSI at the lower TF and focus solely on PA?

OK; so maybe I am not quite trusting the 3-tap trigger by itself and want the extra handholding MACD provides. I understand the point about trend confirmation at various TF's. Maybe I need to watch the RSI better. Don't think I want to give up MACD ...

No argument from me; it's just that I am not getting all that much value from using the RSI indicator. Since I am not all that experienced, I figured there might be something I am missing.

I have a silly question that may be a matter of personal preference, or may be a lack of understanding on my part. I am using much of Lawgirl21's method, but find consistently better results (for me) using MACD (12,26,9) instead of RSI(3). Today I ...

I arrived at 200 pips after experimenting with 20, 50 and 100. I am looking at these as momentum trades (if I understand the term correctly) and figure a 2:1 risk-reward ratio makes sense. I am absolutely open to (non-jeering :-) ) feedback on this. ...

Trading plan — Thanks, Serb, I am working on that, too. Just finished Carter's book and he stresses all of that, gives a nice example (stock-oriented, of course) of a newbie's trading plan. Also explains his own. I am trying to translate that ...

Avoiding getting stopped out — Lawgirl, I have been practicing your method the last month with generally good results. I am not used to trading the longer timeframe, however, and am struggling with setting a proper SL to start and then how ...

Don't want to muddy the waters, but - — I notice a number of different chart types being used here (triangles, wedges and flags, channels, etc.). I am currently reading Murphy and note that he always uses volume to give these shapes context. ...

Question for Pureprice — Am reading Murphy's book on Technical Analysis and noticed you set up a channel (just finished that chapter). Is that how you determine entry and exit points?
