It seems to me that there are two opposing forces on the yen pairs at the moment. On the one side we have the BOJ, ready to intervene if the currency rises too far. On the other side, we have China threatening to buy Japanese bonds to drive the yen ...

It looks like Paulus must have made a mistake when marking up that trade. He drew the fib from 2 to 1 instead of 1 to 2. The retracement marked there is in fact 38.2 not 61.8.

Sevenjones, speaking as someone who's been through a very long journey into the world of forex trading let me say this: Don't bother with EAs. They aren't worth the time or effort. Things that look good even on demo fail in a real-world environment. ...

Thanks for posting all these charts stratman. Just a couple of comments - on GBPJPY, my analysis has found that the swings on H1 usually run out of puff after 100 pips or so. That's the most one should expect for any trade on this pair if you enter ...

That makes sense. So you wait for a mini-TL to be broken, but then expect a retest (as they often come). What you want to see is a rejection of the mini-TL to ensure that the break was not a fakeout. Is that a good summary? On a more general note, ...

Thanks for weighing in on this one stratman. Helps to clarify a few things for me. I'm wondering if you can explain the second of those entries though as per the folllowing image. Is it because the break of the TL (as I've drawn it below) would be ...

Hi Pipalicious - this is exactly the sort of thing we need collaborative work on. The new pipware forum should be the ideal environment to figure out where the highest probability entries can be taken. I look forward to being able to flesh out these ...

Hi Pipalicious, I don't actually wait for a trendline break before entry. I look more for momentum and breaks of important levels. Perhaps I should be looking at these mini-retrace trendlines. I defer to stratman on this point. I am unsure as to ...

Glad to hear it's not just me having trouble with the market today. I'm really not on form though. I just took another poor entry. Sigh. I think I'll stop for the day after this one finishes.

Had a rather bad day. Didn't lose overall, but didn't follow my own rules and got far too emotionally affected by my initial loss (for a trade I should never have taken). Up 2.8 pips for the day. image image image

GBPJPY looking very choppy at the moment. Difficult to trade. I took a stupid entry a little over an hour ago, will post the chart soon. My trades for today. Shocking day imho. Need to keep myself in check! image image image

Hi Limey, Sorry if I came across rather cynical, but I was quite tired at the time. I did actually think that you went to great lengths to show openness about the whole process, posting your donation receipts and myfxbook updates frequently. It's ...

Interesting idea stratman. I wonder, are you current dabblings with programming for the Dukascopy platform related to this? From the short period I've had trading concepts I've learnt by analysing your entries, I can see that there are certain ...

I think you're being a little unkind to stratman. His videos are really quite comprehensive, and he does cover his considerations for entry in great detail - including those on the dashboard. I know, because I've watched almost all of them. You need ...

Made 7.9 pips on this one. As of writing, there was at least 32 pips on the table. Sigh. Stratman/Buildcity/others would appreciate advice on the exit - too early? I got worried after price hit the 50% fib and rebounded so exited on the retouch of ...
