This sounds a lot like the kind of education I got from using VP. I think it is a great tool to teach market behavior and medium term (multi week) trends. It became so much easier to get a sense of market behavior and reversals and a greater ...

[QUOTE]There is a consistency about VP that I really enjoy. I mean it is not bang on all the time or anything like that but it seems to churn out good information like some sort of plodding workhorse that just keeps going. I have found that ...

A self proclaimed "honest" person who admits to being greedy and stupid then delivers a completely baseless piece of rhetoric which indicates that he thinks we are stupid enough to give credence to baseless accusations. BeachBum you said it so much ...

I agree completely that the Asian market has yielded some great trades by using VP. I solved a lot of the entry problems by looking carefully at intraday s/r by observing recent fractal points to see where entries might be foiled by entering too ...

[QUOTE]For me not yet. However my next project after completing a satisfactory and more rule based system for day trading VP is to develop a set of rules to govern when a trade is left on. I did not have very good success by arbitrarily taking ...

[QUOTE=BeachBum] I could not agree more. If you have any kind of decent means of gauging market volatility and trend direction, then using the PDH or PDL from VP's output you are going to get enough winners to outstrip the losers. It is not too hard ...

Without going back to read what I wrote I'll say this: Yes it is better to trade with the trend but there are counter trend opportunities. The best countertrend opps are usually during daily or weekly chart reversals. During these times a bounce off ...

Yes I agree. I found that one of the fast ways to rack up losses was to be in the market too often when it is going against your position. Trend is important. That said when the trend is weak, consolidating, or sideways the daily range is often ...

Very well put. I could not say it any better. People usually want to trade too often. I noted that with the statistics Bluemeasure posted a while back that out of 59 trading days there were around 22 or so low risk entries (less than 25 pip stops) ...

[QUOTE=bluemeasure] Indeed I think day trading VP requires a market feel that includes a sense of trend and related reversals to get up to speed quickly. I'm pretty confident that with some work (like you've been doing) the discretion can be defined ...

This is one of those situations where I've traded successfully by waiting for price action signals combined with overlapping fib levels. (james16 refers to these as fib confluences) Regardless without a high probability buy or sell signal to give a ...

Wow! What a great start. I began almost exactly like you did. Bracketing the highs and lows and trading the bounce from whichever was hit first on an OCO basis. I did that without regard to trend at first. However when the market is trending I later ...

Right that brings it back for me. Being that the PTS is a 5 day and the PTM is a 10 day the Index neural indicator stands on it's own set of values and is therefore independent of other neural nets. Thanks for confirming that! My memory hasn't ...
