LongToBeFree replied Jan 19, 2009I thought you could set this within MT? I can't recall it exactly right now, but pretty sure that you can control it locally, regardless of what your broker does (the exceptions being Sunday & Friday, of course)

LongToBeFree replied Jan 18, 2009It goes further than that. Look at the code I posted earlier. When developing the code, I realized that I dont care when the price happened, I just need to know how many times it happened. So thats when the next array came into play. I kept an array ...

LongToBeFree replied Jan 18, 2009Interesting. I coded something similar to this a while back but only for the first "level" of resistance prices. You should be able to extrapolate what you need from this code. The function will accept and X number of periods and tell you the most ...

LongToBeFree replied Jan 18, 2009I'm part of your MT beta-testing and look forward to you offering it. Q: When you implement MT, will it only be for Forex or will I also be able to trade stocks, futures, etc with it? I'm still looking for a broker where I can use my MT Expert ...

LongToBeFree replied Jan 18, 2009I am not a pin expert, but I have studied them. You mention "a pair". Generally speaking, to get enough setups in a month, you should watch all the majors, one pair alone will not suffice. Also, if you're truly conservative then you'll focus ...

LongToBeFree replied Jan 17, 2009Everything you describe is possible. However, if the concept of an "EA" is new to you, then the learning curve that you would have to go through to learn how to program your own EA and generate your own results would be quite high. Youd be better ...

LongToBeFree replied Jan 16, 20091 - Make sure that your MT is able to send emails. There is a test function that you can use. If the test doesn't arrive, then you need to resolve that first 2 - where do you want the mail, in the DoAlert() function? PM me

LongToBeFree replied Jan 16, 2009My guess is that you're just getting stopped out too often. 2 pips below the previous bar basically means that if you're pair doesn't go up immediately by 40 pips then your trade will lose. Try a "looser" stop.

LongToBeFree replied Jan 16, 2009Thats not a bad win as long as you're looking at 4:1 returns. Why dont you adjust the take profit? Also, you're stop seems to be awfully small for a D1 type chart. That would stop out quite quickly, quite often. Where did you pull that from?

LongToBeFree replied Jan 16, 2009You might need a clearer take-profit strategy. It's not going to help with the win percentage you posted, but it can at least start you in the right direction. Also, with a system like this, the period you use will be CRITICAL. Make sure that you ...

LongToBeFree replied Jan 16, 2009I appreciate the support. However, I'm really not discouraged at all. I've been recently inspired by a couple of books on The Turtles and Richard Dennis. He stated that he didn't care if his trade system was freely distributed because he felt that ...

LongToBeFree replied Jan 16, 2009The power of MAs, and specific periods, is in their popularity. Seriously. Indicators almost have a self-fulfulling-prophecy built into them. The more people see them, the more they are likely to manifest the predicted result. I believe this to be ...

I have come to believe that the "Holy Grail" can exist with EAs. It's just that most (all) of those systems are very boring and use daily charts. Virtually everyone wants a "set-and-forget" system that will feed their need for ...Forex Robots

LongToBeFree replied Jan 15, 2009I disagree. There are various MA crossover systems that are profitable. Sure, they won't make a killing, but the are "set-and-forget" systems. Once I'm finished funding my accounts, I'll be running my EAs on a remote server and only checking them ...
