Thanks fti. So we must learn the moves ourselves. No analysis, indicators or anything, just the present action on a naked chart with our developing minds. Perhaps I got it right from the beginning? I spent my first year trading by looking at the ...

NP Mick, my attempt at reading your mind. Yes, you know what you are doing!

Ahh, that's where the confusion lies. You were referring to mini-lots = $10,000. A lot is 10 times larger ($100,000) and a micro-lot 10 times smaller ($1000). Starting with 5 micro-lots is quite reasonable.

To put it simply, lets say you have $2500 in your account. 0.5 lots is $5 per pip. fti recommends risking no more than 10% for beginners or 30% for experienced traders (I think both are high). At $5 per pip, 10% is $250 meaning you have 50 pips to ...

To be truthful, when I have traded, it has only been fti's method. But I have been extremely busy with family life and work for the last two or three months so what little time I have, I dedicate to this thread, but that means I don't have that much ...

I understand the MT4 ordering system being cumbersome although I saw some benefits to it - mainly being able to have positions in both directions. I ended up developing an MM technique that revolves around it. Though your system would work better ...

Hi Leigh 0.5 lot size is very large to start with in my opinion. For someone going live for the first time, that $2,500 will probably get chewed up fairly quickly. My opinion is not to use demo (unless experimenting) but to go live straight away ...

I'll try to keep this brief as I'm not sure there is any point discussing further. I was trading longer term for about 6 months prior to stumbling across this thread. Prior to that I was trading intraday but then moved to short term (trades lasting ...

One other thing, those ladies are probably best explained with chart action. If I get some time, I can attempt to find the action that I believe matches the descriptions. Also, please post your thoughts/understanding (with charts if need be).

To dance, we must feel the pulse. fti has not gone into too much detail but has dropped hints in his cryptic manner. Personally, I think I have an understanding of his points but I can't be sure. It's a matter of identifying the action. So, look at ...

fti I greatly appreciate the effort you have put into this thread and I have learnt so much. Please continue with the lessons as at the end of the day, we are all responsible for our own actions. I think we all understand that trading takes much ...

MT4 is quite flexible but it just needs to be programmed. The EUR position was rescued so both EUR and cable were profitable. I'm still debating whether this can work over the longer term. Leigh had some very good points. We are not pros and I have ...

fti Just to clarify, when you are buying you are effectively closing your short entries. On my MT4 platform, I can buy and sell in the opposite directions but it does not cancel out the other trades. I need to close them manually. However, on my CMC ...

fti has only just touched on the three kingdoms. He said he would go over it after AOW. Still one lesson left there as far as I'm aware. Almost bed time here... looks like the EUR rescue will have to wait.

So who are you fti? I'm sure even if you told me I still wouldn't know.
I thought living on top of hills is good Feng Shui! I have to admit it's hard to just dance without analysing. Why did you add another cable short? Do you think another sweep ...Technical Analysis Fallacy

I'm glad I closed cable as it may have bottomed, Yen looks sideways but EUR still looks south to me. EUR average is 1.4836.

I will stay up until just after Asian open. So I still have my eye on the chart but this time of night is generally slow. The market moves like a snail. I am in overall profit but I think EUR can still be rescued. So how old are your kids fti?

I was just thinking of leaving EUR open overnight (i.e. Asian session). It is a small entry. fti, were you looking at the cable triangle (on 5 min) initially at entry?

Cable short has been closed for 10 pips profit. Euro still in the negative but entry is 25 times smaller than cable entry. Overall in profit now. Focusing on EUR rescue.

I'm with you fti I was in a position to take some profit on my cable short but my platform froze, and just as I lost the profit, everything started working again. The joys of retail bro-kers! I am only trading EUR/USD and GBP/USD at the moment. All ...
