Bank of England looking more urgently at negative rates, riskier assets: Haldane

Mind you the FED was doing a whole lot of purchases BEFORE Covid-19. This economy has been FED ASSISTED for a damn long time. The cracks are starting to show and the FED can't hold up a WHOLE financial system by themselves.
Senators Urge Fed to Buy Long-Term Debt From States, Localities
- Momofrmnyc commented May 16, 2020
True but first off we know this bill won't be passing the Senate anytime soon without major edits. More importantly in a time of uncertainty the dollar still holds king. I've literally profited a good 15-20% of my account this year off of just long ...

USD/CAD has definitely been stuck in a range between the 1.39 and 1.41 areas. Oil picks up sure CAD sure strengthen but if US/China does escalate I expect USD/CAD to run back up something is cooking for sure. The W still has the upside move ...

OPEC Sec. Gen. Barkindo: the worst is behind us
- Momofrmnyc commented May 15, 2020
Yeah I've been taking rides with USD/CAD & CAD/JPY. I have been more 50/50 with the USD/CAD moves but have been straight long on CAD/JPY anytime it touches the mid 75 or 76 handle.
OPEC Sec. Gen. Barkindo: the worst is behind us
- Momofrmnyc commented May 15, 2020
I'm also surprised on how resilient the CAD has been truly. I expected it to weaken a few times over and it just has made the substantial drop and with oil prices starting to slowly creep up CAD might have more bullishness in the tank.
OPEC Sec. Gen. Barkindo: the worst is behind us
- Momofrmnyc commented May 15, 2020
Why would you be selling USD/CAD? The trend for the week was a bullish USD over CAD. The pair stagnated around the mid 1.40 region and shot up once again. The only losing day it had against CAD was yesterday. Why go against the longer trend?

Fed's Powell: Fed's view on negative rates has not changed
- Momofrmnyc commented May 13, 2020
We already knew it was going to be dovish that's nothing new hard to be hawkish with what just happened globally. More importantly this has kept risk aversion in play. Safe haven will get some love for the next few hours imo.

If "GIFT" means destroying our banking system sure. Look how well it's worked for Europe and Japan. This is what happens when you take economics in Trump University.
As long as other countries are, USA should accept the "gift" of negative rates

In agreeance I see the opposite and see USD strengthening short term across the majority of pairs especially if this US/China trade deal was to escalate. The USD is showing signs it wants to go on another bullish breakout in near term IMO.

What's even funnier mate is that it comes out the day after Saudi Arabia said they were going to rebalance their budget due to lower oil prices. That playing tough guy role doesn't bode well for SA at all.
Saudi Arabia to cut output unilaterally by extra 1 MBD for June
- Momofrmnyc commented May 11, 2020
This will be a short lived pump. They fumbled the ball and now want to recover. A little too late for that nonsense plus demand just isn't where it needs to be to use up all this oil. So this won't do shit truly to be honest.
