I can;t quite understnad how ppl can take any principle from equities and apply it directly to forex. In fx you are trading one ccy against another ... unless one ccy tends to move significantly and consistnetly more than another ccy there is no ...

therein lies your problem. I give these autoclick ppl another few months before they shut up shop. Of course there will be those that will stick with them and give back all the profits they've gained so far but the smart ones will realise that it's ...

apologies, I misread your post. Not to nitpick but a short straddle doesnt mean anything. I think you meant to say short leg of the straddle.

the move down was nothing to do with 'straddlers'. A certain newsource printed a headline figure of 188 instead of 88 and a model sold 6k eurodollar Dec 07s all the way down to 81.5 bringing everytihng else on the yield curve along with it.

you will need a book specific to bond futures, noone 'trades' the cash bond mkt. No disrespect meant as a forum is great for doing a bit of q&a but you should have a look into these things for yourself. Ask yourself how one might find out what ...
Futures vs Forex. Who is more liquid
- sccz97 replied May 3, 2007
if yuo're looking to trade after the initial move thne futures is def a more level playing field. Only in extreme cases does an exchange pull a contract (gret arb opps when they are brought back online however). However, the larger more liquid ...
Futures vs Forex. Who is more liquid
- sccz97 replied May 3, 2007
this does not provide any insight as to what the depth of market was, only the volume traded which for the purposes of determining which is more liquid is almost irrelevant. Seeing as I think most ppl here dont really understand what it means when ...
Futures vs Forex. Who is more liquid

even the futures market dries up around important data. For those who wish to prove me wrong and provide data that shows otherwise please do so. I can guarantee that even the most liquid futures e.g. bund, ust, ir futures or otherwise which usually ...
Futures vs Forex. Who is more liquid
- sccz97 replied May 1, 2007
I have to comment about the liquidity. Whilst daily volume does provide some insight to the general liquidity of a contract in my view it's as incomplete as saiyng liquidity is tight cos the spread is always 1 tick. Ineed the spread is usually 1-2 ...

this was not actually a bad quote technically speaking. A guy on the bnp spot desk typed in 1.9922 instead of 1.9992. Any subsequent volatility was the rest of the mkt reacting to the off-market offer

I dont really want to start the whole futures over spot arugment but with ecn's like currenex, I really do not see the point of trading in the fx futures mkt unless you're arbing. Eurofx is really the only one with enough liquidity to be worthwhile ...

I'm sorry but I just had to comment on this. Even with top tier currenex access you're not going to have access to a yard within 5 pips even on eur$. And when a figure is anticipated you're going to see that shrink to about a fifth of the normal ...
