24HourTrader, What you are describing here is possible but not with standard order types. You would have to have some sort of custom app do that order management for you. MBT's order types are very extensive and cover a lot of scenarios, but ...

Out of curiosity, did you not notice the volatility lately? Spreads have widened across all instruments, not just FX.

I wonder if it's possible to add some sort of notification (like email or popup or sound) when total JPY (or USD) pips go from positive to negative and vice versa. And/Or when 4Hour and 1Hour line up (i.e. Short Short or Long Long) Thanks.

.NET framework has very little to do with crashing, if anything at all. NT may have some issues with MBT API, but it's not MBT's fault. You can't blame them for someone else's code. I use stand alone custom apps that connect to MBT via API and are ...

1. I trade live and see no need to disclose my total PnL. 2. I don't trade with MT4 broker and don't want to total up pips for each of 14 positions. I look at the total PnL for the basket and current market conditions to decide when to exit.

Thanks for your reply. There are two things I would like to address: First, I zoomed into 5sec chart so that you can see better, I don't trade off of anything less than 15min. Second, I have been trading with Oanda for about 3 years and just now ...
OANDA Discussion

Another hunt — I'm playing with oanda just to see how honest they are. I guess times are tough for them now as I see them hunting like that every day. In this case, the price never even hit the SL. I'm not even talking about them modifying the ...

Anyone long here? I'm thinking ~157 is the target. I'm long at 155 with some room to breathe.

wanted to post Oanda's classic stop hunting example. I trade on MBT, but have a small account with Oanda and sometimes throw experimental orders there. In this case MBT never ticked over 107.01, but my stop on Oanda was 107.041. I zoomed in on a ...

Spreads are wider than usual becuase of the recent events. Think of it as a constant news announcement. Oanda is widening spreads too, btw. As to safety of MBT, I would say we are pretty safe at this point. They don't take/hold positions as it's not ...

You would have to use their API and write an application that will let you do it. There is no way to use timed order firing in current Navigator. What you are talking about is very simple and very doable. If you can't code it yourself, just ask ...

fxguru, if your trading style can only take -40 pips, then you need to rethink money management yourself. -660 pips isn't as bad as you think, all depends on your conviction and how much capital you used for the position. I've just closed a short ...

Justin, Thanks for fast reply. I've been running the system for a couple of weeks now and just started to experience these execution issues. Now, on 8-11 I had execution problems on 5 out of 15 or so orders. Yes, my question is why those were ...

It is true that at times MBT (as well as other brokers) have had issues during high volatility times. BUT, today was ok. I wasn't trading manually at that time, but my system was up and running live and I had about 25 transactions around news ...
