It appears to me that you are taking trades on that chart even when the smaller moving averages have crossed?

I like the fact that there are plenty of opportunities available though. It seems that most days there is one pair or another setting up. These days I have no trouble with small losses and missed trades, part of the game.

Never ever ever. I don't take partial losses so I will never take a partial gain either. If you ever feel like taking half off add another entry!

Waiting for a fresh trend is a good idea. Maybe it would be a good idea to use this entry method and get 2 or 3 trades to break even at the start of the trend and then use the 5/8 ema cross against the trend for the exit?

Definitely worth testing the idea out. I am a bit concerned that it seems to be a lower probability entry but you would possibly be able to shot for more pips.

I see what you are doing, slightly different but similar. I have thought about taking these trades and letting them run but a 200 pips take profit makes sense to me as well. I need more time to backtest all approaches.

Don't be sorry, fine to ask questions. I just think a bigger pullback would be better. Doesn't mean this trade won't work but I'm not taking it.

Hi Jcp, please DO post as many charts as you like. You won't find any ego here from me, this is a thread to trade, discuss and improve the original method and if you have any ideas that can help then that's fantastic.

This is correct, the ma's are merely to determine a direction to trade. First monthly then when daily agrees with monthly you wait for a pullback day and put a pending order the other side of it so that when/if the trend kicks back in your order is ...

It is not a valid entry because it would have been better to wait for a pullback however the trend is pretty strong and you may be able to take some pips here. I wouldn't recommend you to do this all the time though, it is very low probability in ...

Those two pairs are exactly correlated at the moment so you are doubling your risk. Nothing wrong with that as long as you know and have accounted for it in your position sizing. I have taken all chf pairs off my list for now, no point in trading ...

I agree with your concerns but if it backtests better than the original system then why fight it?

I don't think the pairs matter because half the time you will be trading against the trend anyway so it doesn't matter if the usd does trend.

I can't agree with you on that point. I firmly believe that through technical analysis you can increase the probability of your entry above 50%. We can discuss just how much your probability can be raised above the 50% level but I'm sure it ...
