markmm replied May 19, 2009Very true, however I don't think asking questions in general is to be frowned upon, the more questions you ask the quickly you can climb the learning curve. But asking for specific trading advice is the wrong approach, better to take a trade based ...

markmm replied May 19, 2009My plan is to use 2 bar stop with some tweaks, that way you can ride a long move and cut your losses if it only goes a few pips. One tweak might be to move to break even at 50 pips, then move to 2 bar stop.

markmm replied May 19, 2009Do you think its worthwhile spending time just watching price action at S/R with Vhands? Im sure you could see a pattern for scalping, like Jeffs retrace.

markmm replied May 19, 2009I watched some of Steve Nisons dvd's on Candlesticks and he basically says the exact same things Jim/Mike etc say. He goes on about how candlesticks provide more information, even although they both show open/close/high/low. he overstates the fact ...

markmm replied May 19, 2009Yeah you are right. People focus on making a profit when managing trades, its also important to cut losses also as you will have losing trades from time to time. I did exactly as you said and moved my stop to above that bar cutting my loss in half.

markmm replied May 19, 2009What I mean is I want it to protrude like a pin bar, in fact I wont look at outside bars as I am concentrating on Pin Bars. I'm not saying OB's don't work, but I want to master the PB and all its variations (multiple day, proxy, in traffic etc).

markmm replied May 19, 2009This is the first time I have taken a loss using method, where I haven't felt like moving on. In the past I would take a loss then move on to a new system/method. I feel so confident in PA and Jim's teachings that I know it works, I just have to ...

markmm replied May 19, 2009I agree with you, I am only looking at pin bars from now on, good 1,2,3 day pin bars at swing high low for A+ setups. I will then look at other good looking pin bars not at optimal locations but look to move stop to BE quickly. I think outside bars ...

markmm replied May 18, 2009I agree, once you know what to look for and are looking at swing high/lows these start to pop out, I've attatched a chart of one. You can train your eyes to the best setups. Hope it helps Mark

markmm replied May 18, 2009Try switching to a bar chart, then imagine removing the close of the first bar and open of the second, then imagine them as one bar. If its a pin bar then its a 2 day pin bar.

markmm replied May 18, 2009I reduced my stop yesterday, I got stopped out for 120 pips loss, so my eur/aud trade profits got wiped out plus a few more!. Bit peeved and will be concentrating on Pin Bars from now on. Backtesting time now, while checking the charts each night ...

markmm replied May 18, 2009So you are happy to enter on a pin bar, but when you see one the opposite way it somehow doesn't matter?? I don't follow your logic? I am talking about only looking at bars on the TF you traded from, i.e. you see a PB form on daily after entering on ...
